It has taught me that if I want something I have to work for it and not everything is going to come easy. It’s given me the work ethic and time management skills I have today because of its challenge and the amount of time I need to dedicate to the sport to get the results I want. Working so hard for months at a time to drop tenths off a second at the end of the year sounds boring and a waste to most but to me it’s something I live for. Being apart of the RIT swim team means I’m not in this alone. We are all going through all the hard work for the same result at the end and without my teammates I would not be able to do it. Being a part of this team means having fun, supporting each other, and swimming fast. Even if I’m not having the greatest day my teammates are there to pick me up and it’s an environment I have the privilege to be in that I feel not many other teams have. Swimming is a little bit of paradise but a whole lot of pain,” Shriver said.</image:caption></image:image><image:image><image:loc>https://joshbolandphoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/jfb_100822_1515a.jpg</image:loc><image:title>jfb_100822_1515a</image:title><image:caption>Rochester Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse Maiah Fallone poses with her lacrosse stick at Doug May Field in Henrietta, N.Y. on Oct. 10, 2022.
